In this election year, it’s tempting to spout out your frustration on Facebook about candidates. Whether you’re complaining about Racist Donald or Crooked Hillary, there’s no shortage of political posts on Facebook trying to sway friends’ opinions.

But a surprising new study shows that political posts on Facebook rarely change what your friends believe. The study by Rantic surveyed 10,000 Facebook users on how they react to political posts on the social media platform.

94 percent of Republicans, 92 percent of Democrats, and 85 percent of independents say they have never changed their views after seeing a political post on Facebook. In addition, a vast majority of people say that Facebook is not the place to share political views.

In fact, the only view you will change is a view of you. Even though your friends won’t change their political beliefs, they will judge you based on your political rants. 53% of Democrats and 61% of Republicans say they judge people based on their political views.
